The Elks City of Castries Co-operative Credit Union, is dedicated to fostering an environment that encourages education, training, community and information.

The organisation’s strategic goals include supporting young students on their journey into adulthood. With this in mind, the Elks Credit Union has enhanced its Annual Scholarship programme by incorporating the newly established “Work Day” Programme. This initiative, which began in August 2023, is designed for scholarship recipients to gain exposure to the office environment and obtain hands on experience, by getting involved in the work processes that occur at the Credit Union.

The participants of the inaugural programme, Camille Charles and Jolene Velinor, were very enthusiastic to meet the members of staff and learn more about the organisation. Camille and Jolene expressed their delight at being part of this program and how they have gained great insight into the Credit Union movement. The Annual Scholarship and Work Day Programme demonstrates Elks Credit Union’s commitment to its members by providing opportunities that prepare our youth for the working world while embracing Cooperative Principle #5, Education, Training and Information.
